Dark Ice AU Details.

This story dates back to the beginning of the Avatar arc. Though, from that point on the story completely changes and is altered. This history is based on the future Rogue Cheney is from; a future in which Gray Fullbuster kills Frosch. A catastrophic event had befallen Earthland in the year x792. Dragons from the past had overtaken the lands with an army of one hundred thousand strong, there was nothing the mages of Fiore could do against such chaotic beasts. The Dragons laid waste to Fiore killing a big portion of its inhabitants in an event that the new world would forever remember as the “Dance of Dragons.”

During the Dance of Dragon, Team Natsu sought to save lives and fight the dragons off if they could, but such attempt had ended in great failure. The group was split in the middle of the chaos but the Dragons weren’t what had done the most damage, It was Acnologia the Black Dragon of the Apocalypse. When Acnologia arrived he slaughtered both humans and dragons alike and among the people, Acnologia slaughtered most of Fiore’s mages including ninety-five percent of Fairy Tail’s mages. All of Gray’s family and friends were killed in the Dance of Dragons but what truly broke him was the death of Juvia Lockser. When Gray found Juvia sprawled in a patch of snow, he hated the sight of her dying, it broke his heart. When Juvia died in his arms, Gray lost himself to the madness of his devil slayer magic.

Rogue Cheney and Frosch appeared before him beaten and bloody, but when Frosch saw Gray crying, the little Exceed sought to help him. However, in blood lusting madness Gray had slain Frosch, running away later after realizing what he had done.

Six years after the event that was forever dubbed as the “Dance of Dragons,” a group of Tyrants known as the Chautari took over Fiore, ruling the kingdom for six years with fear. They used Acnologia’s name to put everyone who would dare challenge their rule in place, claiming that the Dragon of Apocalypse was king. The leader of this group Gallon Alistair rode Fiore into hell, a hell that could be resolved in a great war. (More information on Gray’s journey is covered in Dark Ice Solo series.)

Levy Mcgarden who had escaped the Dance of Dragons alive had returned to Fiore from Tenrou Island with an army of both Demons and humans; she held a small campaign of six hundred strong. With the help of Cana Alberona and Lyon Vastia, Gray Fullbuster had led that campaign in a war against the Chautari. Levy and Gray’s army was crushed and they’d nearly lost the Battle of Magnolia. However, when Gallon Alistair beheaded Lyon Vastia as punishment to Gray, the Ice mage unleashed the power of curses once used by Zeref’s Etherious Demons. The curse of the Ice demon was used to slay Gallon Alistair and his army, Gray himself nearly destroyed Fiore in the battle.

• Dark Ice I

After Gallon Alistair was defeated, Fiore began to rebuild. With the death of her father Toma E. Fiore, Hisui E. Fiore had succeeded to her Father’s throne becoming the Queen of Fiore, though her rule was cut short when she married a man by the name of Nato Blackfyre. When Nato became king, he began to expand the kingdom of Fiore into Seven and Bosco two neighboring countries Nato had imperialized. The goal of the new King was to conquer the known worlds but three major kings would refuse to lay down their crowns and thus this ignites the War of the Four Kings. (This story is covered in Dark Ice II.)

Gray Fullbuster however, travels to the land of Always Winter to train in solitude. During his training, Gray has fought many demons and had trained in the harshest conditions to become stronger than Acnologia in order to slay him. He’s gained a planetary level of attack potency and continues to grow stronger. However, the stronger he becomes the more his devil slaying magic corrupts his soul.

The Final confrontation begins. With the War of Four Kings having come to its final battle, the two remaining kings battle for the crown. In the meantime, Gray Fullbuster is presented with his past demons as the Dragon of Apocalypse returns to Fiore for the final battle!

AU Development.

After killing Frosch, Gray had succumbed to his darker aspects leading him to follow a path covered in blood and sorrow.

Within the six-year time period, Gray has lived the life of a Mercenary that killed and hunted for money. He had also mastered Devil Slaying.

Gray has slain hundreds of Demons in his time, and every time he killed a demon he bathed in its blood to gain more and more power. However, it wasn’t until he’d unleashed the power of his curse that he was able to break his limits as a Devil Slayer.

After killing Gallon Alistair, in the year x798 Gray left Fiore to venture North to further push himself to attain power that would surpass Acnologia. The Ice mage knew it was one thing to have power equaling the Dragon of Apocalypse and another to have power beyond the beast.

During his time in the North, Gray reunited with Gildarts who helped him further his training with the help of the king in the North; Howland York.

During his training, Gray came across Aragorn. The demon was known as the keeper of souls while others called him World Breaker. Gray fought this demon who nearly crushed him, but when he defeated a demon of the highest class, Fullbuster finally realized the power of a true Demon slayer; mastering his curse.

After mastering his curse, Gray attained magical power capable of ending worlds. He’s become a threat capable of demonstrating planetary-level attacks.

During the Battle of Ice and Fire, Gray acquired a new transformation which as a concept resembles that of the Dragon Force. In this form, Gray essentially becomes a humanoid Ice demon. With this form, Gray’s magical power and statistics are augmented beyond that of his curse powers.

After an extensive battle with Etherious Natsu Dragneel, Gray had learned to control his new transformation, however, he knows there is more to learn, and with more experience using it, he can obtain power far beyond anything he’s imagined.

In his bout with Acnologia, Gray had learned to utilize his powers with a versatile aptitude. He developed multiple techniques and even uncovered one of his most powerful techniques. He’d garnered much more experience with his Absolute Zero form thus earning him a boost in experience and fortitude.

Against Zeref, Gray came to the realization of what the vision he saw in the flames was and realized his destiny as the man who would sacrifice himself for the good of the people, utilizing Zeroth’s Erasure for the first time.

Magic and Abilities.

Ice-make (氷の造形魔法, アイスメイク Aisu Meiku): A form of Molding Magic that allows the user to create ice at his will and to shape it into objects. In Gray's case, he uses Static Ice-Make, meaning he can shape his ice into inanimate things or weapons. Ice-Make is known as an extremely versatile form of Magic, coming in useful both in battle, for offensive and defensive purposes, and outside of it. Specializing in it and having been practicing it for years, Gray possesses extreme mastery over it, being capable of creating countless amounts of objects for a multitude of uses. Also, according to him, Ice-Make allows the user to produce virtually anything, granting the user an unmatched creation capability. As an Ice-Make user, Gray is an individual resistant to cold and as such is able to take damage from ice and snow-based attacks without sustaining a major injury and is either completely immune to snow based attacks such as Eve Tearm's Snow Magic or is more resilient to it than other people.

Ice Devil Slayer Magic (氷の滅悪魔法 Kōri no Metsuaku Mahō): A form of Devil Slayer Magic that Gray can manifest at will which allows him to produce, manipulate and control the element of ice. Like other Slayers, Gray is able to consume external sources of ice in order to replenish his strength and enhance his power while at the same time granting immunity to it. This form of Magic is extremely powerful and effective against Demons. Gray was given his father's Magic following his defeat and departure. To some degree, it appears that Devil Slayers have the ability to resist the effects of Curses (or at least the "Ultimate Curse" Memento Mori). It has also been suggested that Devil Slayer Magic is a very fickle Magic and that learning it too quickly and making use of its properties in rapid succession have had adverse effects on Gray, causing him to become afflicted with black markings that have thus far spread across half of his body on two occasions Nevertheless, Gray himself said that with some help of Porlyusica, was able to gain control over it. He has become proficient enough in this Magic to be able to encase an enemy in a spiked cocoon of ice, roll him across a field of enemies and manipulate it into an immense burst of ice in a matter of seconds. Gray also can use this Magic to boost the power of his Ice-Make. One of the most effective aspects of this type of Magic is its ability to completely freeze everything within a large radius with a mere flick of the wrist.


AU Spells:


Castamere no ame (の雨, Rains of Castamere.): Numerous swords constructed of Ice are hoisted above Gray surrounding every corner of his form in the same manner of Erza’s Heaven’s Wheel Armor. Gray can launch these Ice weapons at his opponent(s) in a variety of different ways. Each ice sword contains the impact potency of a meteorite capable of decimating an entire city.

Kōri no keimusho (氷の刑務所, Ice Prison): Pointing his index finger at the target, the ice devil slayer generates a spark of purple energy, which summons six thin, wide beams of ice that slam into a target's midsection and hold them in place. The target is unable to move any part of their body, including the parts which were not struck by the beams.

Shinkū Tasō Hyōheki (真空多層氷壁, Multilayer Vacuum Ice Wall): By freezing the surrounding oxygen, Gray can create a multilayer ice wall with several empty layers. This enables even the smallest Ice particles Gray creates to be able to withstand fire attacks of the highest caliber with little damage. Gray can manipulate this ice to use it as a sword.

Shinkū no Kōri no Yaiba (真空の氷の刃, Vacuum Ice Blade): This is the same technique as the Multilayer Vacuum Ice Wall. However, it is used as an offensive attack. By gathering the ice created by Shinkū Tasō Hyōheki at the tip of his fingers, Gray launches it forward, creating a large blade of ice that impales his opponent. This large blade of ice has enough power to rip through dragon skin with ease.

Hyōten Hyakkasō (氷天百華葬, Frozen Heavens Hundred Flower Funeral): As a huge hole opens up in the clouds, a large amount of snow falls down onto Fullbuster’s opponent. When the snow comes into contact with the opponent, ice flowers sprout all over their body, instantly trapping them in a pillar of ice.

Kōri no Akuma no mikadzuki (氷の悪魔の三日月, Ice devil's crescent) Gray would swing his right arm in a linear direction, thus creating overflowing ice from the tips of his fingers in the form of a crescent.

Curses (呪法 Juhō) is the main form of combat utilized by the Demons of Tartaros. Upon breaking his limits as a Devil slayer, Gray Fullbuster was able to unlock the power of Curses. When activated, the black marking that once took the better half of Gray’s left side overtakes his entire body, changing the color of his hair white. In this form, Gray’s powers are further enhanced and so too are his senses. He becomes a demon with his black skin becoming as strong a component as diamond rocks, nearly unbreakable. His magic power surges into a purple aura and if left uncontrolled, Fullbuster could freeze the entirety of Earthland. His attack potency is currently only at the beginning tier of a planetary level as Gray still has much to learn. ( AU Only.)

Spells:

Flash-Freezing: In his curse form, Gray can flash-freeze multiple meteors as large as Dues Sema at a distance with a simple hand gesture; this also extends to objects that his ethereal sword cuts. Additionally, anything that he freezes will have all of its functions and abilities negated. If anyone touches Gray while he is in this form, they will be flash-frozen as well.

Kin (禁, Prohibition): The Ice demon holds his palms away from himself, with his arms extended out to the sides, before clasping his hands together, with the fingers intertwined intricately, causing their target's arms to be bound to their back with Icicle fabrics and Ice shafts.

Goryūtenmetsu (五龍転滅, Five Swirling Dragons of Destruction.): Upon activation, violet energy ruptures the very earth causing the ground to rise up in pillars, before rising into the air to form five enormous dragons made of ice above the demon slayer.

Reitō hitsugi (冷凍棺, Frozen Coffin.): Gray generates purple/black Ice, which envelops the target with a powerful torrent of gravity before taking the form of a box of black ice, covered in several spear-like protrusions which pierce the box, lacerating the one inside from head to toe.

Shikai Hyōketsu (四界氷結, Four World Freeze): Gray can freeze all matter in front of him after four seconds of building up his power.

Absolute Zero ( 絶対零度, Zettai no Reido ): The ultimate Devil slayer metamorphosis, transmuting Fullbuster into an amalgamation of man and demon; becoming a true synthesis. When in use this configuration converts Fullbuster’s natural features thus transforming his body into a flexible organic glacial diamond form. Absolute Zero is the final, most powerful state Fullbuster can attain; granting him a power that far exceeds Acnologia and Zeref: the power to utterly destroy everything.

This ability converts the latent thermal energies in and around his body into an unknown form of energy that is efficiently dissipated. A related mutation has rendered his body tissues unaffected by sub-zero temperatures. Fullbuster can consciously, immediately lower his body temperature from its normal 98.6 Fahrenheit to absolute zero (The point where all molecular motion stops.) and lower within the span of a few tenths of a second. Fullbuster’s power to generate cold is so great, he is capable of freezing an entire planet down to the molecular atom.

Gray is virtually indestructible in this form, allowing him to reform his body should it become shattered or evaporated. In his ice form, he is able to use the moisture in the air to form spikes, shields and attach other extra appendages to his body. However, he is not immortal, and therefore is someone’s potency is much greater than his own, he will surely be destroyed. ( AU only.)

With this transfiguration, Fullbuster is essentially one with the Ice, and his potency is augmented which also includes augmenting his prior abilities such as his Ice-Make spells and Devil slayer spells.


Spells:

Aisu Sureibu (アイススレイブ, Ice Slave): This Spell is capable of suppressing one's free will via the conjuring of a single, icy collar that the user fixes around their target's neck. When used, this spell robs the victim’s ability to form a coherent thought, as well as renderer them unable to resist enemy orders.

Tōshi Shita Gun ( 凍死した軍, Army of the Frozen Dead): Gray calls upon frozen golems to come forth and fight on his behalf. In its essence, it is much like his Ice-Make magic, molding an army of frozen skeletons to fight on his behalf. ( unmastered.)

Bunshi kotei-ka ( 分子固定化, Molecular Immobilization): By seeping ice particles into the atmosphere Fullbuster can immobilize animate and inanimate organisms down to the molecular structure, including the planet. This same technique can also be used to completely freeze time for a limited amount of passage.

Kō ryū no Mai ( 凍龍の舞, Dance of the Frozen Dragons): This is a more powerful version of Gray’s Goryūtenmetsu, summoning dozens of gargantuan frozen dragons to bombard his opponents.

Lotus Vines (蔓つる蓮れん華げ Tsuru Renge) Gray fabricates a blizzard of lotus petal-shaped shards of ice that would catapult towards his target to tear them to shreds.

Crystal Prince (結けっ晶しょうノ御み子こ Kesshō no Miko) - Gray produces miniature ice replicas of himself to battle his opponents. He is capable of creating up to three clones of himself at once, all possessing the same amount of combat prowess as Fullbuster himself and fully capable of using any of his Ice-Make Spells.

Hoarfrost — Waterlily Bodhisattva (霧む氷ひょう・睡すい蓮れん菩ぼ薩さつ Muhyō — Suiren Bosatsu?) - This is Gray’s strongest spell. He crafts a large Bodhisattva ice statue to attack and destroy his targets, with the statue being capable of creating powerful cold gushes of wind, and capable of completely freezing on a large planetary scale

Demon Slayer Secret Art; Zeroth’s Erasure: Upon activation, Fullbuster’s ocular begin to scintillate a fervid vermillion hue whilst atramentous aura overhauls his body, convoking the abrupt summons of septemviral illumination underneath the target’s heels, transmogrifying into pillars of glacier that elevate far into the heavens and beyond. Within the permafrost, the target’s figure begins to freeze and fracture as Gray metamorphoses into a glacier. The target’s figure becomes naught but hailstone within the hyperborean weather, fracturing into the nothingness; expunged from actuality. However, the disadvantage of such a technique results in the death of Fullbuster.
